!CS003 CONSPIRATORS OF PLEASURE | The Usurp Tapes, Vol. I: Species of Spaces | C60+DOWNLOAD

This exists as a doumentation of the sonic activities that took place at the Usurp Art gallery and creative space in Harrow, London, on September 24th, 2016.

These recordings document aspects of day to day life in the gallery through experiments in sound. The first part, "Spaces", acts as an inventory into the production of everyday life and an investigation into the infra-ordinary. The second part, "Species", is an improvised live performance that concludes the inquiry into the art space as a site for public engagement and community creativity, with an emphasis on collaboration, chance and experimentation.

!CS002 PiK // RUWINS | I'm Not Dead Yet // Rounds | SPLIT C60+DOWNLOAD

A split cassette from two South East London based acts, PiK's "I’m Not Dead Yet" twists and turns through ambient soundscapes and sketched out beats, from dark atmospheric beauty through to shuddering bass. Wrapping it all up is "Defaukt", a lengthy live improvised track with drifting and turning melodies, glitch and tech-souled drums.

Production duo Ruwins present four warm, fuzzy minimal techno / electro / disco tracks - recorded straight onto cassette. Crank up your stereo!

Artwork by Bryn Rhys Lloyd.

!CS001 PETER COYTE | Crack & Murmur | C60+DOWNLOAD

Originally produced for - and presented at - the 2016 edition of the Whitstable Biennale as a 5.1 sound installation, the A-side of this release contains a thirty-minute binaural version of "Crack & Murmur", complemented by a previously unreleased mix on the B-side utilising the same source recordings.

All sounds were collected during a series of walks guided by the principles of the dérive (Debord), taken along the coastline of Seasalter, Whitstable and Tankerton using hydrophones and binaural microphones.

Artwork by Elizabeth Porter.
